Turning Wind into Performance: Optimizing Voyages for Wind-Assisted Vessels

Ascenz-Marorka-to-equip-four-of-LDAs-RoRo-vessels-with-its-Voyage-Optimisation-solution-converted-from-webp (1)

Wind-assisted propulsion is rapidly moving from innovation to operational reality. As vessels integrate sails and other wind technologies, operators face a new challenge: how to incorporate these systems into daily routing decisions while maintaining efficiency, safety, and commercial reliability.

On Thursday, 12 March at 17:00 (CET), Ascenz Marorka, together with LD Armateurs, a pioneering French shipowner specializing in innovative and low-carbon maritime transport solutions, will host a live webinar exploring how digital tools and operational expertise enable effective voyage optimisation for wind-powered vessels.

Through a real-world case study, the session will follow the construction and operation of three low-carbon RoRo vessels equipped with wind-assisted propulsion, highlighting how performance modelling, routing strategies, and onboard integration support measurable operational outcomes.

The session will also look at how connected digital solutions, from onboard data capture and performance monitoring to advanced analytics and voyage optimisation, are enabling more efficient and sustainable vessel operations across modern fleets.

World Maritime Forum 2026: Collaboration Driving Maritime Decarbonisation Forward

8R0A1048

We recently had the pleasure of attending the World Maritime Forum 2026 in Copenhagen, joining customers, partners, and industry leaders to discuss how maritime decarbonisation can move from ambition to practical implementation.

Together with colleagues from Ascenz Marorka, Vessel Performance Solutions, and GTT, we participated as a unified delegation, highlighting how collaboration across fuel innovation and digital solutions is helping shipowners deliver measurable operational value.

A key theme throughout the event was clear: successful decarbonisation starts with trusted data. During a panel discussion on scaling adoption, Christian Nicolas Treu emphasised the importance of establishing reliable performance baselines and starting small validating impact before scaling across fleets.

As digitalisation accelerates and vessels become increasingly connected, integration between systems and platforms will be essential to unlock real efficiency gains and sustainable outcomes.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversations, we look forward to continuing the dialogue.

We are pleased to announce that Danelec will be attending Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026 in Singapore, 25 - 27 March 2026, one of the region’s leading exhibitions for the maritime industry.

You can find us at the Danish Pavilion (Hall A, Stand A-R36), where we will be exhibiting together with our colleagues from Ascenz Marorka and Vessel Performance Solutions.

Three leaders.

One operating system for maritime operations.

At this year’s event, we will showcase how our combined expertise brings together safety, onboard data capture, performance monitoring, voyage optimisation, and advanced analytics into a connected digital ecosystem designed to support modern fleet operations.

Together, we provide an integrated suite of solutions that work seamlessly across the vessel and shore environment, transforming operational data into actionable insight. We can deliver a clearer operational picture, enabling simpler decisions, improved efficiency, and safer operations at sea.

Whether you are exploring digitalisation initiatives, performance optimisation strategies, or practical pathways toward more sustainable operations, our teams will be available to discuss how integrated solutions can grow alongside your fleet’s needs.

We look forward to welcoming customers, partners, and industry peers for conversations on how connected digital solutions are shaping the future of maritime operations.
